story:
A despondent writer struggles to keep his family alive when a series of global disasters threaten to destroy the human race.
Several years ago, geologist Adrian Hemsley comes across information that shows the world will end in 2012. No announcement has been made but G8 countries start preparing for the event. Jack Curtis is a divorced and less successful writer. On a camping trip with his kids in Yosemite, he meets Charlie Frost, who is preaching that the end of the world is near. A series of events lead Curtis to believe what Frost has told him and his family for China, where the industrialized country is working on a response to the impending disaster.
