Plot / Storyline:

Haunted by the death of his family, former policeman Max Rockatansky roams the desert woods of now post-apocalyptic Australia in a scorched, dark, supercharged V-8 Pursuit Special. A scavenger for food and petrol, Max’s only companion is an Australian cattle dog and a sawed-off shotgun with scarce ammunition. After expelling a gang led by the unruly biker warrior Waze, and taking petrol from one of their wrecked vehicles, Max finds a nearby gyrocopter and decides to collect its fuel. The gyrocopter is boobytrapped, but Max overpowers a pilot hiding nearby, sparing his life when told of a nearby small oil refinery in the wasteland. However, upon arrival, Max finds the premises under siege by the Marauders, a motley gang of racers and motorcyclists of which Waze is a member. The leader of the Marauders, a large perverted man named “Lord Humungus”, swarms his gang daily on the premises, assuming that the premises contain some kind of petrol store or even a small refinery.
